Nat will take the Gifted & Talented test this Sunday uptown at PS 129 and I am probably the most nervous. We haven't done any prep except Brainquest so I am happy to read this article from November that makes me feel better about not doing any prep for the test. I think it's weird to test a little person who is just 4 and 3/4, but I'm hoping she'll think of it as a strange adventure. When she was little and doing baby modeling, it always felt like that when she went on photo shoots......We always said to her that it was a funny play-date and she always had fun.
I am frightened of the people who buy a $90 manual and test prep book from Bright Kids NYC to drill kids on how to answer these questions. I hope it doesn't stress her out too much and that we can laugh about it once it's over. I have been saying to her that this is, "just a way that grown-ups can find out how smart little kids like you are". Wish us luck!
